Today was my first day of in-person school in over 17 weeks! And damn, it was a roller coaster of emotions!
I woke up at 6:30am – 15 minutes earlier than I usually would wake up, just to be prepared. It didn’t take long to get ready, but there were a few mishaps along the way.
I was more nervous than excited to go back to school, only because I had a science test first period and I wasn’t looking forward to it. I did, however, walk to school with my crush for the first time, and although it was slightly awkward, it was really good to see him in person.
Overall, school was just the same – except for the fact that:
- I had to wear a mask all day (very annoying and suffocating)
- We had to follow the arrows in the corridor (also very annoying, especially because teachers would make us go all the way around if we didn’t go the right way)
- My friend group and I couldn’t sit in our usual spot, meaning no handball court (10/10 very very annoying)
- My classmates and I couldn’t text in class and rant about how awful our schooling system is
My top highlights for today:
- Walking to school with my crush
- Seeing all my friends again
- Good class vibes
- Positive-ish attitude
- Good jujitsu training session
