Anyone who knows me knows that I absolutely love books and reading. Ever since I came to Australia at the age of 3, my mum took me to the library for arts and crafts and other library programs. I made my very first friend at the library, and 11 years later, I’ve made so many more.
Reading is one of my many passions, and I love it because it allows me to escape reality and develop my imagination. For me, reading isn’t something I find difficult to do. I spend late nights in bed reading, and I always have my nose in a good book.
I know that many people my age find reading difficult, but I think it’s a passion that can be found if we open up to all the opportunities around us.
In the past 11 years, I’ve fallen in love countless times. Not literally, of course. But, I’ve fallen in love with words. I’ve fallen in love with fictional characters and well-developed worlds. I’ve fallen in love with writing and reading.
I wish that I could open this door to other people. This feeling, this ‘falling in love’ scenario. We all want to fall in love at some point in our lives. But with what, or who – well, that’s up to us.
I’ve fallen in love with words. And now, I don’t think I can fall out of love with it.
