This month was quite busy, from going back to school and partaking in many activities. Glossing over my photo album and from what I can remember from February, I feel like it hasn’t been that long since the start of the year, let alone the start of February. Time has flown by, marking the completion of 1/6 of 2024.
There have been many memories and highlights of the month, including:
- starting year 12
- getting my official drivers licence photo (ew it looks weird though)
- slowly fixing my sleep schedule; I’ve been starting to sleep earlier at around 9:30 10:30
- partaking in valentine’s day activities; I bought a cute lego set for Kevin, and made origami hearts with personalised messages for my friends. I also went around the school with the leadership team and house captains and sang serenades to people!
- partaking in the salmon race at the swimming carnival
- going on an unofficial year 12 excursion to aqua splash after the swimming carnival
- celebrating rhiannon’s 18 birthday!
- learning how to cook; this month I made nachos, tacos and guacamole, and helped my mum by cutting and prepping vegetables
- getting a new car! I’ve been learning to drive in it, and it’s much more easier than driving the Triton
personal achievements & goals
- continually posting on my blog every saturday!
- consistently driving every week. I’m not sure if I hit my 3 hours per week goal though, but I have become more confident in my driving abilities
- time-blocking every week. I’ve found this has helped me be more prepared and focused on tasks when I know what’s coming up. It has also helped me plan specific study sessions for different subjects
- started reading Lessons In Chemistry by Bonnie Garmus. Unfortunately, I haven’t made significant progress with the book, and I’m pretty sure it’s overdue now T-T I definitely want to continue reading it online though, after assessments are over
- consistently writing summary notes for my classes! I have found that using AceNotes is a great way to outsource notes for my subjects, and this has helped me build my notes. I’ve tried to be more consistent with watching Atomi videos for Economics, as this is a great tool that helps me understand. I’ve evolved my note taking strategies, specifically writing my notes as active recall questions, in which I copy and paste into my obsidian where I can easily convert them into flashcards into Anki.
- getting into Youth Parliament! I received an email near the end of February congratulating me on my acceptance into the program. I was really shocked and surprised that I had gotten in, but I’m excited to see what this opportunity will bring!
- got 25/30 for english extension 1!
- got 27/30 for english extension 2, and am ranked 5th!
