This month flew by so quickly. Nonetheless, the start of April seems like it was such a long time ago.
I’m not sure what word would best describe this month. One word that comes to mind is “experience.” I experienced a lot of new things this month, such as an “Australia Roce” and Youth Parliament. Another word that comes to mind is “peace.” As we winded down from a hectic term of studying and exams, I found myself doing things I loved again, such as reading books. I worked hard, achieved a lot, experienced difficult times, but at the end of the day I got through it. And most importantly, I made peace with my difficulties and I tried to improve and/or resolve them.
It’s been a quick month, but I’m so freaking excited for MAY!!!
memorable moments
- Colleen’s Roce
- Harmony Day: I dressed up in a Indian outfit, and I took photos with Kevin and my friends! It was our last Harmony Day, and to be honest, we didn’t do much. But it was still fun to dress up and take photos!
- Taylor Swift’s New SISTER album: TayTay released her new album, and there were a lot of mixed feelings about it. Die-hard swifties were analysing every lyric, and I was just bopping along. I thought the songs were a bit… too happy to be considered “emotional.” However, I realised that her post-breakup depression was concealed due to her being on tour, and the lyrics of the songs really reflected that. There were definitely some good songs in the album, but none really were WOW factor for me.
- Study Date + Cafe: Kevin and I had brunch at Oliver Brown during the holidays! We got hot chocolate, coffee, belgian waffles, and eggs and toast – and it was all really delicious. Afterwards, we visited a bookshop and went back to his place to chill.
- Youth Parliament Training Camp: I had a very hectic 3 days at Youth Parliament camp, but overall, it was really fun and I met a lot of hardworking, intelligent and passionate people.
- Indigo’s 1st Birthday: Our neighbours’ invited us for their son Indigo’s 1st birthday! They were really nice, and it was really nostalgic seeing Indigo (just like Noah) grow up.
personal achievements & goals
- surprise grading: got my black tip for jujitsu! I also received THE brown belt that has been passed down from John’s Sensei
- EEXT2 Major Work: I procrastinated basically all holidays, but after binge watching Gone Girl with Kevin, I was inspired to write majority of my MW. I highly recommend the movie, but it was a bit traumatising to see some scenes. I’ve written about 3900/5000 words now, so not long to go before I can start to edit!
- Economics: I tried sticking to my goal to get through 2 topics a day for economics, but that last approximately 3 days before I gave up. However, I got my results back from the recent task and got 25/30! It felt really rewarding, since I put a lot of hard work into economics this term. I’ve still got a long way to go before trials and HSC, but I’m starting to engage more with the material.
- Software: Let’s just not talk about this…
- Wake up at 8am: I did manage to wake up consistently at 8am during the school holidays, however I did go back to bed sometimes…
- Making friends at YP: YES!! I connected with a lot of people, and everyone was really nice! I was really burnt out by the time I got back home though T-T
- Reading: Like I said previously, I did get back into reading this month. Most of the time, I was procrastinating studying or doing something else, but it’s okay because I FREAKING DEMOLISHED MY READING GOAL OF 5 BOOKS AND READ 18 BOOKS THIS MONTH!!!!
this may…
