One of my goals this month is to find and use some new task management systems that work for me. My current task management systems are made up of using Google Calendar, which I’ve been logging my tasks into, blocking my tasks into chunks that I’ve done throughout the day, and using my school diary, which I use to write down any school-related tasks, such as homework and assignments.
While using my school diary is working effectively for me, Google Calendar isn’t working as well. I find myself generalising how much time I spend on each task, grouping tasks into blocks, and I can’t track how much time I’ve spent on specific tasks over a duration of time. This bad habit of mine has defeated my purpose of using Google Calendar and isn’t currently working very well for me.
However, my Dad has recommended me to research different task management systems, and use a few to help me accomplish tasks with the goals I have in mind. One example he gave me was bullet journaling.
Bullet Journaling is a system that can help me track my habits, be flexible with my time and tasks, and visualise what needs to be done. Over the course of this next week, I want to buy a grid bullet journal notebook and research some template/layout spreads that are easy to write/draw up.
I’m excited to see how this new system works, and if it works for me specifically!
