Our identity is like a jigsaw puzzle
With every piece, is a new piece of us
With every missing piece, it’s one that’s gone missing
Made up of pieces, but not complete
Everyday we find a new piece
We build the million pieced puzzle
Every fit and every crack
Lines up to make a picture
Accept in life
There is no guided picture
There is no known end outcome
And that’s why it’s fun
Every time someone knocks against the coffee table
A piece comes undone
Sometimes one, sometimes a few
The puzzle breaks
Shattering against the coffee table
We become frustrated
But we begin again
Putting the pieces back together
Sometimes help comes our way
With a persistent smile and a helpful hand
They help put the pieces together
Taking constant breaks in between
But sometimes they don’t just break
They leave
Leaving us with the pressure to finish the puzzle by ourselves
Leaving us to do everything by ourselves
But through it all
We piece together the pieces
Of a never ending puzzle
The big picture, never to be seen but always in sight
One day we’ll see the picture
The pieces won’t always be straight or perfect
But the facade is the same
And then one day we’ll be the picture
A picture that never seemed possible
A jigsaw puzzle with it’s curved edges
A puzzle with it’s mysteries
A puzzle that never seemed complete
