We all are faced with hardships, from small inconveniences such as not understanding a problem or concept at school, to more serious issues such as depression or dealing with anxiety or stress.
Sometimes we disregard a problem, thinking that it’s just a ‘small thing,’ and it ends up biting us back in the butt. While it seems daunting, we should be brave and ask for help when we need it.
Asking for help isn’t a sign of weakness. It’s a sign that you have identified a problem and then have been brave enough to go ask someone for help. Whether it be a teacher, a parent, or a friend, people are usually kind enough to help you themselves or help you find someone who’s more suitable to help you with something.
Don’t be afraid to ask for help, because even the strongest people need help sometimes. Asking for help isn’t a sign of weakness, nor does it label you as weak. This is something I’ve struggled with for a long time – giving help to others, but not receiving it. While I am sometimes scared to ask others for help, it’s relieving when I do get the help that I need.
Be open to both receiving and giving help, as we all should be comfortable with both!
