My Goals This Week:
This week, I had 2 goals I wanted to achieve – read 30 pages of any desired book every day, and drinking a bottle of water per day. I’ve started reading a lot more during lockdown, so the first goal wasn’t too hard to maintain. However, the second goal challenged me, as I’ve previously forgotten to drink water throughout the day. This has happened very frequently this past year, and I got a lot of headaches and felt nauseated after a long day.
So far, I have been consistent with my goals, and have drank water and read everyday. Although they were small goals, they still pushed me and made me do things for myself. I also had reminders from my friends to drink water, and I often read after school.
Three Things I’m Grateful For:
- My friends, who reminded me to drink water, and gave me advice when I was worried
- Music, for always keeping me company and understanding my feelings when people couldn’t
- My family, for cheering me up and making me smile, even when if I got annoyed after a while
What is the Most Valuable Thing You Have Learned This Week?:
This week was honestly quite a rollercoaster of emotions. I found out that my crush’s best friend also likes me, and that made my head spin quite a bit. I also had a breakdown on Monday, because I felt like I just wasn’t good enough and wasn’t working hard enough or as much as my peers.
I think the most valuable thing I learned this week was that to stop procrastinating and actually do my work, I had to prioritise, and actually get up and do things. It isn’t easy for me to ‘just get up and do things’ because I often get distracted along the way by youtube or other things. However, by making a plan everyday, I was able to work through my tasks and even if I didn’t get everything done, I still felt productive and accomplished. I was also able to balance both work and self-care, and making a plan helped me prioritise my tasks, and then I allowed myself to take a break and take some time for myself.
