There’s so much I didn’t get to say to you today, and despite you leaving for boring ass Spain for 5 months in less than 2 days, I know that “goodbye” is not one of those things I can say.

you have been my bestest friend since 2020. You have made me cry and smile, feel confident and jealous, and all the emotions in between. You have supported me through it all, and I for you, and I could not ask for a better best friend.
I don’t usually swear, but fuck Spain.
I can’t imagine 5 months without you being here with me, but I know that this is not the end. Hell, this is just the beginning of our beautiful journey and story together.
Some people are with you for a chapter. Others, for one or two.
But you, Amelia Blackwell, have been with me for a whole ass story (literally) and I intend for you to be in the next one too (again, literally ;)).
While everyone was sobbing their eyes out today, I was smiling like the beautiful and different girl like I am. Not because I was happy for you to leave me (and Australia lmao), but because I knew this wasn’t the end. This was merely your intervention of becoming a better person and living your main character life, that just happened to occur in SPAIN of all places.
Despite that, I know that Spain will treat you amazingly, despite literally having the word pain in it lmaoo.
I know that you will come back with a lifetime of stories to tell; boys and girls that caught your eye, a life with a sister and a great one-time experience at a Catholic school, a white Christmas and a second chance on that skiing trip you unfortunately missed out on.
School isn’t going to be the same without you, so heads up for a bunch of face time calls, random rants, lengthy ass voice recordings and cute photos of moi. Spain is so lucky to get you for 5 months, and I’m so glad that you get the opportunity to go there.
I hope while you are there, you don’t forget about the people back home, but I hope you make the most of your time in that lil country. I don’t know any Spanish unfortunately, but if you see Dora the Explorer PLEASE GET HER AUTOGRAPH FOR ME!!! And tell Swiper no swiping 😉
I love you so so much, and I can’t wait for your return. The rest of Year 10 will not be the same without you, but know you will be dearly missed by all of us, and we hope that you miss us too. Not too much though!
I hope you find more pieces of yourself in Spain and that you build your character and focus on yourself while you’re there. You have grown so much since our time together in 2020, and I wish you the very best for the next 5 months without me. Don’t cry too much, I’m only a phone call away if you need me <3
