The rain trickled down my face, and I smiled, raising my head towards the only glint of light in the sky. Sounds of Joji filled the air, my eyes blurring at the beautiful sounds that filled my ears.
I felt his muscly arms wrap around the front of my waist, and I froze.
“Miss me?” a familiar voice asked teasingly, and my body softened, leaning back into his comforting figure.
“Hell yeah,” I replied, turning to face him. “What are you doing here?”
“I wanted to come keep you company. You… You looked lonely out here,” he said shyly.
Awwww.
I blushed, hiding my face in the crook of his neck.
“I’m not lonely” I teased, placing one of the headphones into his ears.
His expression lit up, a sense of glowing redemption as we both stood listening to beautiful melodies and staring at cloudy skies.
Our bodies started to sway together, in time with the beat of Joji’s Slow Dancing in the Dark. Lightening flashed across the sky, igniting a chain reaction of racing hearts and thunderous booms.
He reached up, caressing my face in his calloused hands. I pulled him closer, gliding my hands up his body until they reached the nape of his neck, where they settled impatiently.
