Tomorrow is the first day of Term 3, and I can’t believe that half of the year has already flown by! Reflecting back onto the previous 2 terms, I can see that I definitely need to start making some changes to my life in order to stay on top of my studies and extra curricular activities.
Some of the challenges I’ve faced so far, is lacking motivation to do things, resulting in scores/marks that I wouldn’t call my best result. I also rejoined the Media Team this year, and things have been really hectic, especially trying to juggle between that and my studies. Joining the media team has given me so many skills I wouldn’t have learned otherwise, however, I think I need to start prioritising specific things.
This term, I really want to:
- Become more active – I am going to continue walking to and from school from the train station, and partake in activities such as house games, Jujitsu, the PASS AFL program, badminton, soccer, handball and ice skating
- Do well/better in my assessments – I can do this by asking questions if I’m confused, talking to other people who can give me advice in areas I need to improve, and set time/prioritise my tasks
- Enhance my relationships with others – I can do this by talking to different people at break time, talking to people outside of school via text, and spend time with people including my family and friends
- Focus on myself more – Do some form of self care once a day (listening to music, taking a longer shower, reading), become more confident in myself and my abilities (not focusing on the past and my mistakes, but rather seeing these as areas of improvement and reflecting so I can improve for next time), and drinking more water!
Some of these are definitely going to challenge me, and I know that the pressure is sometimes going to get me, especially during exam times. However, I know I should and can talk to a few people who I know have my back, and I’m going to try and start opening up more to the people around me! I have a feeling that there are going to be a lot of challenges this term, both personally and with things outside of school, but I also know that there are going to be a lot of opportunities and happy moments too!
