When I say that children’s television programs have changed dramatically in the past decade, I’m not joking.
Yesterday, I watched two of my favourite childhood shows for the first time in 8 years – and boy was I shook!
Watching Bob the Builder and Thomas the Tank Engine brought back so many memories of my childhood and the life I used to live as a young, innocent girl.
After watching the old intros to these shows, I watched the intros to the new versions, and they were so different! Not only was the animation slightly more creepy and, well, animated, the storylines of these shows were completely different as well.
It’s one thing to grow up, but after watching these shows again, I realised how much and how quickly I’ve grown up. To think that children in today’s society and generation haven’t watched and don’t even remember the old versions of these shows is crazy to me! Imagine not knowing the OG shows of Peppa Pig and Thomas the Tank Engine!
Sometimes it’s hard to notice the changes that occur within yourself, but when you look back and look at your surroundings, you can actually identify how much the world has changed. I guess after watching these TV programs again, it brought up so many memories of my childhood, and made me realise how much the world has changed since I was 8 years old.
