The first image that pops into my mind when I think about the future is a grey cloud of smoke. The fog is too dark to see through, and this unsettling feeling washes over as I approach it.
Similarly, I don’t know what the future holds for me, and I’m scared that it might be a repeat of my past. The grey cloud blinds my eyes, and I’m left to venture on with my heart, body and soul.
There are many insecurities the future brings out from inside of us, but there are positives too. No matter what happens to us in the future, there will be both ups and downs. The thread that holds the two together is us and the mindset in which we approach the two.
While the future scares me, my mindset in which I see it has changed. The anxiousness is still there, however there are also sparks of hope and curiosity for what the future might hold.
I believe that going into the unknown, although scary, is worthwhile and will help you learn and grow into a better, bigger individual.
So, as Frozen’s Elsa once said:
Every day’s a little harder
As I feel my power grow
Don’t you know there’s part of me
That longs to go
Into the unknown
We too must go into the unknown.
