Dearest Readers,
The ton is abuzz with the latest gossip, all from the House of Tudor themselves. It seems that our King Henry VIII is marrying yet again, to his sixth woman Catherine Parr. Though the uproar from the Church of England after his first annulment to Catharine Aragon was quietened, his second, third, fourth and fifth marriages all seemed to end in either annulment, death, or beheading. Or, of course, all three, to the course of Anne Boleyn.
With only two daughters and one son, I can only speculate that it is not the fault of his five, soon-to-be six, wives that the consummation of their marriages has led to death. For on all five cases, it seems that the common factor is Henry the VIII himself.
However, gentle reader, before I am to beheaded by the King too, I must say that I am merely recounting the buzz from the palace itself. After all, I am disciplined to report on particular details at this time. Regardless, I wish King Henry VIII luck on his sixth marriage. From the sounds of it, he shall need it, for his lack of child production could only be due to his frivolous expeditions with his countless mistresses and his lack of stamina.
Stamina, after all, is a virtue.
Yours Truly,
Lady Thistlebush
