Dear beloved reader,
And by that, I mean: Hi there Rionah, Kevin (maybe) and Nora Nana (also a maybe)!
I’ve officially completed 2 weeks of school now, and it’s kind of scary how fast it’s flown by. It’s making me realise how quickly Year 12 is going to go, and soon before I know it, I’ll be graduating and entering a new phase of my life.
But let’s not get too ahead of ourselves, shall we?
To be honest, this week was pretty chill. I had some exciting moments such as:
- Seeing Noah and Jade again!
- Having my first english extension 2 class
- Finally coming up with an idea for EE2!!
- Visiting the opera house with my family
- Spending time with my family in Sydney
I also had some pretty nerve-racking moments too, like:
- Having my academic interview with Mr Marchant and Dr Sneddon about dropping subjects; They said I could drop biology!!!
- Feeling anxious and worried about EE2, and the whole process and ideation
But those things didn’t stop me from having a good week!
This term, I’ve been trying to become more proactive with my study habits, and I’ve found using the pomodoro technique quite helpful, especially using this one website. It’s really cute, you can change the background to your preference, as well as the music (I think?). Recently I’ve been listening to the Game of Thrones soundtrack while studying, which has helped me stay focused and not get caught up in singing lyrics.
I’ve also forced myself to exercise once a week on Tuesdays, since I stopped working out consistently about 4 months ago. I’m not gonna lie, the first time I worked out, I started crying after my workout T-T. However, on Tuesday, I tried pilates for the first time! I’m not exactly sure if I did the exercises correctly, I just kinda followed along and tried to be conscious of my breathing and slow with my movements. It honestly felt like yoga but less relaxed.
Besides that, I’m excited for this upcoming week. I’ve got a few things planned, including having my first teacher/student interview with Ms Santangelo for EE2, and I’m also going to an exhibition at the Powerhouse Museum this Saturday with Kevin!
Until next week,
Lian Sequeira
